Religious Vocabulary on Creation: Eriugena, Hildegard of Bingen, Eckhart

چکیده

This paper departs from biblical images of creation (wisdom, word, mirror), and goes on to consider those in three medieval thinkers the Neoplatonist tradition. Firstly, Johannes Scotus Eriugena, who uses sapientia principio images. Secondly, St Hildegard Bingen, whose visions wisdom mirror-God appear. In third place, M. Eckhart, refers his Latin writings God’s se ipso. The article will try show that a common feature regarding creatio can be found all authors: explanation origin world as manifestation first principle final return–union–to it. subject has recently been partly dealt with by authors such W. Beierwaltes, Otten or Marder. present research follows thread previous studies, claiming at same time an original contribution history Neoplatonic thought about creation.
